Dear Parents:

Morse High School will be starting the Core Academy: Supporting Student Achievement Success (CASSAS) program, (formerly known as Saturday School) on September 30, 2023. The schedule for Morse CASSAS will be the following:

8:00 – 9:50 a.m. Instruction

9:50 – 10:10 a.m. Nutrition Break (20 min.)

10:10 – 11:40 p.m. Instruction

11:40 – 12:00 p.m. Nutrition Break and Dismissal (20 min.)

Please encourage your child to arrive by 7:45 am, front gates close at 8:05 am. CASSAS is an additional instructional day offering academic support in various core subject areas to help students reach their academic goals. The Morse CASSAS program is designed based on the need of our school community and students registered to attend.

CASSAS provides instruction for a minimum of four (4) hours and students should report to Morse Auditorium upon arrival and will remain until the last instructional round ends at 12pm.

As Per Education Code, Section 49550, a nutritious meal is provided by SDUSD’s Food Services Department Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) or Provision 2 Schools: “A breakfast meal and lunch is available for all students attending CASSAS at no charge.” This meal will be offered to all participating students during the instructional Saturday.

CASSAS participation is made available to all students and students can make up full-day absences or unexcused absences by attending.   Morse High School CASSAS will offer a variety of opportunities for students to sign up and attend, such as:

  •  Mix/Media Art
  •  Tutoring support
  •  Finance and Career Workshop
  •  College readiness classes, and much more!
  •  Study Skills
  •  Physical fitness activities
  •  MATH Support in English, Spanish, and STEAM Projects

Morse students with absences and un-cleared absences should attend. However, all Morse students are welcome at any CASSAS to take part in these educational, novel and enriching activities.

See our website under Student life: CASSAS to sign up. Students with absences and un-cleared absences will receive a phone call and summons during the school day to remind them of their need to attend

Room locations will be identified when signing in on Saturday and restrooms in the main Tiger Quad area will be open for use during CASSAS. If you have any additional questions regarding our Saturday program, please feel free to contact Vice Principal: Mr. Lincoln at (619) 619-510-4700 x3002 or by email: [email protected]
